Older flats and condos, houses and small apartment buildings; architectural character often comes with building-specific maintenance needs.

Space, condition, parking and proximity to Union Street shape the search. A smaller condo can be a different budget proposition from a renovated house with views.

Take a neighborhood walk

Walk Union between Fillmore and Steiner, then turn south to feel the grade. If waterfront access matters, separately walk north toward the Marina rather than estimating it from a map.
